From the hustle bustle of daily routine, it was time to take a time-off and revisit the nearest beach destination from Pune. Yes, that is Kashid which came to our attention because of its clean, empty and beautiful beach giving a city couple much needed quiet and peace. Alas, it is not so anymore. The area has burgeoned with multiple resorts inviting tourists from Mumbai & Pune more than the place can handle. The result is same as what happens to any tourist spot in India. Rowdy groups, noise and garbage lying all around has spoiled its pristine beauty. This may be the last time we visit Kashid. But still there is something peaceful about watching sun setting on the horizon over the ocean. And there is always a spot away from the crowd to watch it from.
But we did find a quaint little home-stay for one night stay which was well maintained with courteous staff and excellent home cooked food. The 5 room bungalow had ample space with a well maintained garden. Morning was spent having a walk in the garden and enjoying the natural beauties
Except the intolerable humidity, the overall experience was refreshing and a welcome change!!
